Orica is committed to ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with our safety, health and risk management policies.
We strive to ensure our facilities operate to the highest standard to protect the health and safety of workers, the community and the environment, supported by our safety, health and environmental management system.
Orica Kooragang Island is classified as a major hazard facility (MHF) because the facility has more than the threshold quantity of specific hazardous materials. An MHF is required to demonstrate to SafeWork NSW how it operates with an acceptable level of risk to people and the environment.
The system is managed on our behalf by Avetta.
HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?
Orica contractors will register both their business and workers in the Orica Workforce Management System.
The process is relatively simple and is all completed in an online portal. We divide it into two stages to make it as seamless as possible: 1. business registration, and 2. worker registration.
For more details, find and select your Orica project on the Find My Orica Project page.
Registering your business
Beginning in the Company Pre-Qualification portal of the Orica Workforce Management System, you’ll answer questions about the type, scope and frequency of work your business does for Orica. Based on your answers, you’ll be assigned a category to determine which documents we’ll need to get you compliant. You’ll upload those documents for safety specialists to verify, and then you can get your workers registered.
Registering your workers
You’ll be sent login details to the Roles Portal of the Orica Workforce Management System, where you’ll create profiles for your employees who work at Orica. You’ll select the role/s they perform for Orica, upload their qualifications and competencies (licences, tickets), and book online inductions which they complete before attending site. This information is also verified by safety specialists. Compliant and inducted workers are issued with access ID cards linked to their online profile – their passport to access Orica.
Avetta
Avetta manage the Workforce Management System on behalf of Orica.
Our Knowledge Base now provides comprehensive guidance on various aspects of our system. This includes instructions on accessing your account and registering, navigating our supplier portals, managing roles and worker subscriptions, setting up and using the Workforce by Avetta Mobile App and other support materials.
The Business Rules specify the requirements of the documents you upload in the system. Ensuring your documents meet these requirements will save time and have your business and workers approved faster.
Complete and return this form if you have a new worker who is already registered to a different company in the system, and you need them added to your company. Workers can be removed from your company by an administrator directly in the system. Instructions on how to complete this process are available under the End Employment sub-heading of this page: https://kb.pegasus.net.au/display/WFMS/Supplier+Portals
Visit the How to Register page for details about how to register. You start by registering your business, and on successful business registration, you will be invited to register your workers to access site.
How much does registration cost?
